Instructor
Lisa Fleisher
Lisa grew up in the Chicago suburbs, doing gymnastics from the age of 4. She went to the University of Wisconsin where she competed as a collegiate gymnast on a full scholarship, graduating with a degree in Physical Therapy. After college she lived with her husband, Randy in Winnipeg Manitoba, working as a Physical Therapist at Misericordia Hospital. In 1995, she moved to Denton, TX and continued to work with the focus of her practice being out-patient orthopedic clients. During this time, she decided to pursue her Masters degree in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University with a focus on women’s health. She was involved in research on women with osteoporosis and stress incontinence. She also taught classes to the incoming students on Pregnancy & Childbirth. After the birth of her first child, she decided to stay home and focus on raising her children. Always focused on staying healthy and fit, she began long distance running in 2009 which eventually lead to her becoming a triathlete in 2011. Lisa has completed 4 full Ironman races, 6 half Ironman races, and numerous Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons. In an effort to improve her core strength and performance during her triathlons, her husband suggested that she try a Pilates lesson with him. She fell in love with Pilates and after a few years decided to go through the Romana’s training program with Amanda Owens at Park Cities Pilates Center. She has had the privilege to be taught by Amanda Owens, Michael Levy, and Juanita Lopez; all who were taught by Romana Kryzanowska herself, Joseph Pilates protégé. Additionally, she continues to attend conferences and seminars every year to improve her skills and knowledge as an instructor. In 2013, Lisa visited Lake Tahoe for a summer vacation with her husband and they both fell in love with the area, purchasing a second home in Incline Village. Now that her kids are off to college, Tahoe has become her permanent home and the dream of having her own studio has become a reality. Lisa loves to teach and looks forward to sharing her passion and knowledge of Pilates with you.
